The Green Initiative

The village of Norton Commons© has reserved a quarter of the land that the town sits on for six parks and other amenities, so the residents can enjoy the outdoors right outside their doors. Each park has its own benefits and each offer unique experiences to park goers. At Heritage Park, children can enjoy creative playscapes and there is a pavilion nearby for picnics and outdoor gatherings. Jimson Park is another play park for children with additional activity sites for adults including: a putting green, comfortable benches, a walking track, and a running track. The most notable park in the area is Meeting Street Park with it’s centerpiece – the Fountain of Meeting Street Park – a 16 foot tall, cast iron fountain built by The Robinson Iron Company. Oval Park connects the northern and southern villages with walking trails, plants, and views of both neighborhoods and the Rose Garden is a formal garden park that is perfect for meditating, taking tea, small gatherings, or quiet alone time. Get a group of friends together at Triangle Park to play an outdoor game like bocce ball or croquet and be sure to take in the stone art features.
